One of my most popular posts of all time had nothing to do with online marketing. It was my wanting a marketplace where, idea people like me, could share ideas and get connected with someone that brought the execution / industry experience. I'd see it as idea people funding to start, but then like Kickstartr, others could choose to fund even if it isn't their idea or their execution. The idea side would bid on what they would contribute - idea, money, etc. - and the two sides would come to an agreement on % ownership / rev share, etc. Here's one of the many ideas I might post.
If you've ever gained and lost weight (more than 15lbs), you have a scale and you use it all the time. Some people, though, hate the scale. The number of the scale scares them. It's too real, so they prefer to judge their weight-loss by how their clothes fit. So, were I scale manufacturer, what I do is realize that part of my job is telling the weight. The other part is relative. We aren't portions of food. It's nice to know what we weigh, but if you think about the actual reason, it's to measure comparisons from one time to the next.
So, what can you do if you want comparisons from one to the next but don't want the see the number? Well, how about a scale where you stand on it and you choose a starting point. Then when you get on again, it tells how you compare to last time you got on and to the starting point. Of course, it would tell you the weight if you wanted that, or if someone in the household did.
